Tip’d Hits 10,000 Registered Users!

by Andy on June 25, 2009

Tip’d hit 10,000 registered users earlier this week. Actually, in the past two months, user registrations have been slowly but surely creeping up. I credit Tamar’s hard work in keeping the community and discussion clean and spam-free! ;-)

10k may be small potatoes compared to Digg or Twitter but we think it’s pretty good for a bootstrapped social finance site. Next stop, 100k!

Shareaholic is a free browser add-on that enables you to quickly, and very easily share, e-mail, bookmark, and blog links via all your favorite web 2.0 social networking, bookmarking, and e-mail services. It’s so darn good that it was the Grand Prize winner of Mozilla’s own Extend Firefox contest. If you’ve never checked out Shareholic, now would be a great time to do so:

You can get the latest version of Shareaholic here.

Just a short and sweet announcement today. Tip’d gets included in plugins and online apps on a regular basis, but I like to highlight the really good ones we find. Here are two worth checking out:

  • Knowem: This site really took the “check username app” concept to the next level. They offer several paid services and also got a ton of buzz recently.
  • SexyBookmarks: This Wordpress plugin is notable because it lets you choose which services to include and also has an eye-catching icon design (good for enticing blog visitors to bother to bookmark/stumble/etc.)

That’s it for today, but if you’re looking for a social wordpress plugin, or want to make sure to get your username everywhere, check out Knowem and SexyBookmarks!
